GENERAL INFORMATION

NUSMods API contains data used to render https://nusmods.com. It includes data on modules offered by NUS and their timetables, as well as information on the locations the classes take place in. You are welcome to use and experiment with the data, which is extracted from official APIs provided by the Registrar's Office.

The API consists of static JSON files scraped daily from the school's APIs. This means it only partially follow REST conventions, and all resources are read only. All successful responses will return JSON, and all endpoints end in .json.

The shape of the data returned by these endpoints are designed for NUSMods in mind. If you have any questions or find that you need the data in other shapes for other purposes, feel free to reach out to us:

  • The median response time of the API is 206 ms .

Get p50 under 220 ms to get a 4/5 score.

RELIABILITY 5/5

  • Self compliance: response objects matched the declared response types.
  • Server errors: the server did not return any 5xx error.

DESIGN 3/5

The design score reflects the quality of the specification file (usually named openapi.json or swagger.json). Having a high-quality specification file (with up-to-date types and examples) help developers understand the API and tools produce relevant documentation.

  • Respects OpenAPI 3.0.1 schema specification.
  • Contains comments and summaries.
  • Contains examples.
  • Does not contain duplicated objects.

Popularity 0/5

The popularity score is computed from the number of references to the API found on the internet. Have your API used by many developers to get a higher score!
